About Blackbird

Security isn't a feature. It's the foundation.

Blackbird IT Solutions was built on a simple belief: small businesses deserve the same level of IT management and security as the enterprises that compete against them — without the enterprise price tag or the runaround.

President  ·  Blackbird IT Solutions

Matthew Williams has nearly 30 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity. He founded his first MSP in 2004 after watching large providers systematically overcharge small businesses and under-deliver on their promises — and decided there had to be a better way.

Blackbird IT Solutions was built on that conviction. Matthew started the company because too many MSPs convince their clients they're protected — and then when a breach or incident occurs, that same client is handed a bill for tens of thousands of dollars just to get back to business. That's not protection. That's a liability dressed up as a service.

Every client Blackbird takes on gets a real security foundation built in from day one — not a checkbox, not a sales pitch. When something goes wrong, and eventually something always does, Blackbird's clients are ready. They don't face a recovery bill that threatens their survival.

Matthew is based in Southern Indiana and serves businesses across the Louisville metro and Southern Indiana communities he calls home. When a client needs someone on-site, he's there. When they need an answer, they get a person — not a ticket number.

Why Blackbird exists
Too many businesses find out their MSP wasn't really protecting them — right after the incident.

The recovery from a ransomware attack costs a small business $50,000–$200,000. The prevention costs a fraction of that. Blackbird was founded to close that gap — before it costs you everything.

Our Mission
We exist to make sure
you never get that call.

Managed IT has evolved. It's no longer enough to keep the lights on and patch the servers. The threat landscape has changed, the regulatory environment has tightened, and the cost of a breach for a small business is no longer something you survive by just calling your insurance company.

Blackbird's mission is to deliver enterprise-grade IT management and security to businesses that have traditionally been underserved — small and mid-sized companies in legal, healthcare, financial services, and general business who need real protection, real accountability, and a partner who's invested in their survival.

We don't take on clients we can't protect. Every business we work with meets a security baseline before we start — because we're not interested in collecting a monthly fee while your exposure grows. We're interested in making sure that when something happens, you're still standing.

01

Security First, Always

Every package starts with a security foundation. It's not an add-on. It's not optional. It's the baseline — because anything less isn't managed IT, it's managed risk.

02

No Surprises

Flat-rate pricing, transparent contracts, honest conversations. You know what you're paying, what's included, and what to expect — before you sign anything.

03

Local Accountability

We're not a national call center. We're your neighbors. When something goes wrong, we show up — in person if needed — and we own the outcome.

04

Built for the Long Term

Real security takes time to build. Our 24-month agreements aren't a lock-in — they're the minimum runway needed to actually mature your environment and reduce your risk.

Who We Serve
Industries we
specialize in.

We focus on industries where the stakes are highest — where compliance obligations are real, client data is sensitive, and downtime is measured in more than lost productivity.

Vertical 01
Legal & Accounting

Law firms, CPA practices, and financial advisory firms handle some of the most sensitive client data in existence. We understand the confidentiality obligations, the regulatory exposure, and the reputational stakes of a breach in your industry.

Healthcare & Dental

HIPAA isn't optional, and neither is the security infrastructure that supports it. We work with medical and dental practices to build and maintain compliant environments — documented, tested, and audit-ready — so you can focus on patient care.

Our Commitment
What you can
hold us to.

We Will Be Honest With You

If your environment has gaps, we'll tell you — before you sign, not after something goes wrong. If a service isn't the right fit for your business, we'll say so. We'd rather lose a deal than take on a client we can't serve well.

We Will Show Up

Not just remotely. When your business needs someone on-site, we're there. Louisville, Jeffersonville, New Albany, Clarksville — we're local and we mean it. You'll always have a direct line to someone who knows your environment.

We Will Never Oversell You

Your package is built around your actual needs, your actual team size, and your actual risk profile. We don't upsell for the sake of it. If something isn't necessary for your situation, we won't recommend it.

We Will Own the Outcome

When something goes wrong in your environment — and eventually, something always does — we don't point fingers. We contain it, remediate it, document it, and make sure it doesn't happen again. That's what a real partner does.
